Phase C Certified Instructor - Krav Maga Worldwide, 4th Degree Black Belt - American Freestyle Karate

Chris has been involved in martial arts since the age of 14, including the disciplines of American Karate, Taekwondo, and Shaolin Kempo. In 2007, after medical school and residency, he returned to martial arts full time, and eventually received his fourth-degree black belt in American Freestyle Karate.

In 2010, he started Krav Maga for the first time. He earned his brown belt in 2017 and his appreciation of Krav Maga's realism and practicality brought him to begin teaching at Fortitude in 2018. Check out his Q+A below!

Q: When did you take your first Krav Maga class?

A: 2010

Q: What did you like most about it?

A: Real world application of martial arts techniques

Q: What made you want to become an instructor?

A: I have been involved as a student in martial arts off and on for decades. Being an instructor allows me to give back to the martial arts community and pass on the knowledge I have gained over the years to other martial artists.

Q: What is your favorite part about teaching?

A: Sharing knowledge

Q: What activities do you enjoy outside of Krav Maga/Teaching?

A: Woodworking, golf, and downhill skiing

A: I also happen to be an Allergist/Immunologist in my free time.
