Phase B Certified Instructor - Krav Maga Worldwide

Q+A:

Q: When did you take your first Krav Maga class?

A: June 2017

Q: What did you like most about it?

A: I love the different challenges I face when leveling up my skills. I also love the community we have at Fortitude. They are the reason I come back every day.

Q: What made you want to become an instructor?

A: The reason I wanted to become an instructor started with a goal I set for myself. When I began training in Krav Maga, I was at my heaviest weight. A year into my training, I had a serious health scare. While I was healing, I knew I needed a change in my life. Unfortunately— Covid hit and halted my plans of getting healthier…so I decided 2021 was going to be my year! I started with a health coach and was working on changing my life. Instructor “Phase” sounded like a scary, intense, and grueling course, consisting of seven eight-hour days of intense training with a teaching + physical test at the end. I thought to myself, “How cool would it be if I could complete one of these Phase courses!”…so I started to train. I wanted to prove to myself that I also had what it takes to complete a Phase course. I started attending instructor training classes and really dove into the teaching aspect. I found my passion for teaching and enjoyed every second of it. When I went out to my Phase course and killed it, it only made my desire to teach stronger.

Q: What is your favorite part about teaching?

A: Seeing every student leave class with a new-found confidence in themselves and their abilities.

Q: What activities do you enjoy outside of Krav Maga/Teaching?

A: Being outside (hiking, swimming, kayaking), traveling, music festivals/concerts, spending time with friends + family

Q: Anything else we should add?

A: I have a Bachleors Degree in Education!
